Consultant Gynaecologist
Dr. Sangeeta Agrawal began her illustrious journey in Obstetrics and Gynecology with rigorous training at two of India’s premier institutes, Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, from 1990 to 1993. She earned her M.D., D.G.O., and DNBE before moving to the U.K. in 1994. There, she worked in renowned hospitals, including Royal London and St. Bartholomew’s, where she gained specialized experience in high-risk pregnancy, colposcopy, menopause, oncology, and laparoscopic surgery, earning her MRCOG.
After returning to India in 1999, Dr. Agrawal established her private practice and served as a consultant at Bombay Hospital until 2016, after which she became a visiting consultant at Bhatia and Breach Candy Hospitals. She also operates a private clinic in Prabhadevi, Mumbai, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere along with outpatient procedures and ultrasound services. With expertise in teenage care, fertility, menopause, painless labor, infertility treatments, and advanced laparoscopic surgeries, Dr. Agrawal has become a leading figure in women’s health, providing comprehensive care across all stages of life.

Career Overview
I have done training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from 1990 to 1993 in Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, both of which are premier institutes for training in India. I have obtained the M.D., D.G.O. and DNBE.
In 1994 I went to U.K. and worked in various hospitals in London viz. Royal London, St. Bartholomew’s, North Middlesex and Barnet General. Royal London and St. Bartholomew’s are teaching hospitals and tertiary care centers. Besides, doing the routine Obstetrics and Gynaecology, I got the opportunity to work in specialized clinics such as medical high-risk pregnancy, colposcopy, menopause, oncology and laparoscopic surgery. I obtained the MRCOG.
After returning from U.K. in 1999, I started practice. From 2004 tom 2016, I was attached to Bombay hospital as a consultant in department of obstetrics and gynecology. In 2016 I joined Bhatia hospital and breach candy Hospital as a visiting consultant.
I have my private clinic in Prabhadevi Mumbai, which is a very up market area of Mumbai. My clinic atmosphere is very warm welcoming and comfortable. I offer all out-patient procedures in my clinic and also ultrasound facilities.
My areas of expertise are Obstetrics and Gynecology, involving Teenage care, Antenatal, Intrapartum, Post-natal care, Painless labor, Fertility control, Menopause management and Infertility, Endoscopic (laparoscopic and hysteroscopic) surgery. Gyne-oncology Colposcopy and Gyne-urology work-up and management.
Research Experience
I have conducted various research studies
- Study of the effect of Phytoestrogens on the symptoms of menopause. This randomized double blind placebo controlled study was conducted at Babasaheb Ambedkar Railway hospital. The results have been published in Bombay hospital Journal. The paper also won the young scientist award at the Asia Pacific menopause conference held in Thailand in year 2003
- Study of the effect of Tibolone on the cardiovascular risk factors in menopausal women. This randomized double blind placebo controlled study was conducted at Sir HN Hospital Mumbai. The results have been published and presented at various forums.
