I have conducted various research studies

Study of the effect of Phytoestrogens on the symptoms of menopause. This randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study was conducted at Babasaheb Ambedkar Railway hospital. The results have been published in the Bombay hospital Journal. The paper also won the young scientist award at the Asia Pacific menopause conference held in Thailand in the year 2003
Study of the effect of Tibolone on the cardiovascular risk factors in menopausal women.

This randomized double-blind placebo-controlled study was conducted at Sir H N Hospital in Mumbai. The results have been published and presented at various forums.

Uterine Polyps

Uterine polyps are growths that occur due to overgrowth of the endometrium which is the inner lining of the uterus. Therefore, they are also called endometrial polyps. They are attached to the endometrium by a thin stalk or a broad base. If an endometrial polyp is attached to the uterine surface by a narrow elongated pedicle, then it is known as pedunculated, if they have a large flat base then they are known as sessile. They grow into the cavity of the uterus and sometimes when large can even protrude through the cervix and rare cases through the vagina. The polyps may be round or oval, and range in size from a few millimeters to a few centimeters or even larger. There may be one or several polyps present. Causes of Uterine Polyps The polyps are usually benign. They occur after the age of 40 and after menopause but can occur in younger women. They usually cause bleeding problems and occasionally get in the way of getting pregnant. There is no clear reason why the polyps develop. Women who have high estrogen levels tend to make polyps. The health effects of tobacco occur from smoking manufactured cigarettes and other forms of tobacco such as smoking traditional hand-rolled flavored cigarettes, bidis, use of water pipes and use of smokeless tobacco, and reverse cigarette smoking. The risk of dying in women who smoke is elevated as compared to the risk of dying in women who do not smoke. Smoking has an impact on the reproductive health of women. Endometrial hyperplasia thickens the uterus lining that causes heavy or abnormal bleeding. It raises the risk of endometrial cancer and uterine cancer. It is a common side effect of Tamoxifen after Breast Cancer. A Endometrial Hyperplasia Case Report By Dr. Sangeeta Agrawal I will discuss a common side effect of Tamoxifen with the example of a case report.I would like to share this because this could be relevant to many women.Tamoxifen is commonly given to prevent the recurrence of breast cancer.Tamoxifen is the oldest and most-prescribed selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM). It is used in women and men diagnosed with hormone-receptor-positive, breast cancer to reduce the risk of cancer coming back (recurring). What is the difference between Quarantine and Isolation?

Both isolation and quarantine are methods of preventing the spread of COVID-19. Quarantine Quarantine is used when you come in contact with someone who has aninfection with the coronavirus. Quarantine means that you remain separated from others because you have been exposed to the virus and you may be infected. The quarantine can be done in a designated facility or at home. It is for a period of 14 days. Isolation Isolation is used for people with COVID-19 symptoms or who have tested positive for the virus. The person is separated from other people, ideally in a medical facility where they can receive clinical care.  If isolation in a medical facility is not possible and you are not in a high-risk group of developing severe disease, isolation can take place at home. If you have symptoms, you should remain in isolation for at least 10 days plus an additional 3 days without symptoms. If you are infected and do notdevelop symptoms, you should remain in isolation for 10 days from the time you test positive.
